James Todd

James engraves jewellery and silverware and specialises in seal engraving. He works to commission and also undertakes trade work. After completing a four-year course at The Sir John Cass College in London, specialising in engraving, James was apprenticed in 1994 to O’Connell and Yardley, a firm of engravers in the West End of London.

During this time, he entered pieces into the Craftsmanship & Design Awards at Goldsmiths’ Hall, receiving a commendation in 1996 and first prize in 1997 in the Junior Die Sinkers & Seal Engravers category. Following his apprenticeship, James went on to work for Tiffany & Co. and Cartier.

In 2002, he left London and moved to the South West, where he established his own business and continues to work today.
