What We Do

The Hand Engravers Association of Great Britain was founded in 2007 with a clear purpose: to champion and revitalise the art of hand engraving at a time when its future looked uncertain. With many masters nearing retirement and few routes for newcomers to train, there was a real risk that generations of knowledge could be lost.

From its earliest days, the Association has sought not only to protect the heritage of hand engraving but to celebrate its vitality. By bringing together established professionals and emerging talent, it has created a community where skills are shared, new opportunities are forged and excellence is recognised.

Now a registered charity, the Association continues to play a leading role in raising awareness, training the next generation, staging events and shining a spotlight on the outstanding artistry of hand engraving.
