Anna Ólafsson trained as a painter and printmaker at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, specialising in etching, before commencing engraving studies with Dr Malcolm Appleby MBE FRSE and training with Rod Kelly (MA RCA). She has won senior Silver prizes for engraving and chasing at the GCDC awards. She was runner upin 2024 before being the eventual winner of The Silver Society Prize in November 2025. She has been the recipient of several training scholarships from the South House Silver Workshop, a two year funded residency at the Hugo Burge Foundation, and was highly commended at the 2026 John Ruskin Drawing Prize.
