Lucy studied jewellery manufacture in Hatton Garden, before taking up an engraving apprenticeship with gun makers Holland and Holland. Here she learned techniques such as scrollwork, portraiture, lettering, gold inlay and carving in both precious metals and steel. After twelve years at the company she has now works part-time for herself from her workshop in Dorset, and welcomes enquiries for commissions.

After courses with the HEA Lucy also developed skills in copperplate engraving and seal engraving. Lucy enjoys teaching, and has previously taught engraving courses for the British Academy of Jewellery. She has won commendation, silver and gold awards for her engraving in the Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Awards (Junior).
