Jeweller

Specialising in surface engraving, Anastasia has become fascinated by copperplate engraving for intaglio printing.

Anastasia Young trained as a goldsmith at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art and was based in London until 2022. She now teaches at the School of Jewellery in Birmingham, and is also the author of four technical jewellery books and an accomplished photographer.

After completing studies, she took a short course with Emmet Smith and has been engraving since 2005. Anastasia’s work is concerned with contemporary interpretations of traditional themes, and she uses engraving to decorate and give further depth of meaning to her jewellery.

Following an HEA course in printmaking, her work has become more focused on copperplate engraving and in 2022 she was awarded a Silver Award in the Engravers, Die Sinkers & Seal Engravers – Senior section by the Goldsmiths’ Company Design & Craftsmanship Awards.
